Passage Tomb was written after my visit to the New Grange passage tomb in Ireland.

PASSAGE TOMB
Down across the valley wide,
ages labor earth aside.
It's summer now the sun is high
same light that caught my father's eye.

Ancient plan followed with care,
tribesmen searching everywhere.
Perfect stone ritualized,
live because the sun's alive.

Passage tomb - earthly womb,
sacred room of our solar deity.
Passage tomb - nothing soon,
forgotten rune - our shamanic history.

Two generations' toiling done,
we've built a mound of stone and blood.
It's winter now and death has come.
Time to summon back the Sun.

Sacred mound of spirits raised,
sacred things receiving praise.
Ages pass, memory erased,
culture gone leave but a trace.

Passage tomb - nothing soon,
